The water supplies are managed by local municipalities in Spain. Many have their own wells and sometimes the supply is governed by private companies. Supply is
paid for on a quarterly basis; initial connection costs vary from 50 to 500 euros. |

Mains gas is only available in major cities. If you have mains gas to your property, you will need to contact the local gas company and ask for the gas to be switched on. A supply contract will be sent for you to sign, and the meter will be read. Gas bottles can be delivered to your home; this also requires a contract. You will be billed bi-monthly. |

The national telephone company, Telefonica, is now privatised. If there is no line to your property, you will need to contact Telefonica to request one. Rural areas may wait up to two months for a telephone line. |
